At Earthling Automotive, we offer a variety of EV auto repair classes to teach technicians how to diagnose and repair EV and hybrid vehicles. We take pride in offering small, hands-on courses that provide a superior learning experience. With a maximum class size of four students, we ensure a personalized and immersive environment you can truly dive into the subject matter and get hands-on experience working on EV and hybrid vehicles. Our approach encourages active participation, and yes, you should come prepared to get your hands dirty. Additionally, we draw from years of experience and will share actual case studies from our shop to enrich your understanding.

TESLA 1

Course Overview:
This two-day, hands-on workshop is tailored for individuals with little to no experience diagnosing and repairing Tesla vehicles. Class size is limited to a maximum of four students, allowing for a highly interactive and engaging learning experience.

  • January 20/21 (Sat-Sun)

During this course, you’ll have the opportunity to work on multiple Tesla vehicles, and we will cover an array of topics, including:

  • Creating a service account to access Tesla service information
  • Understanding how Tesla vehicles are similar and different from other EVs
  • Assessing OEM service info strengths, weaknesses, and workarounds
  • Learning to diagnose using Tesla Toolbox, Service mode, and Service Mode Plus
  • Gaining insights into Tesla maintenance intervals, requirements, and challenges
  • Understanding the process of creating a parts account, ordering parts, and acquiring special tooling (SSTs)
  • Exploring high-voltage safety procedures specific to Tesla
  • Diving into charging, supercharging, and pre-conditioning in comparison to other EVs
  • Gaining valuable insights from real-world case studies from our shop

Hybrid/EV 1

Course Overview:
The three-day, hands-on Hybrid/EV 1 workshop is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of hybrid and EV powertrain components, their operation, and system-level diagnostics. For hybrids, we focus on the Toyota hybrid system, and for EVs, the spotlight is on Tesla vehicles. Class size is limited to a maximum of four students, allowing for a highly interactive and engaging learning experience.
